Hosking integral in non-helical Hall cascade

چکیده

The Hosking integral, which characterizes magnetic helicity fluctuations in subvolumes, is known to govern the decay of magnetically dominated turbulence. Here we show that, when evolution field controlled by motion electrons only, as neutron star crusts, still but now it has effectively different dimensions than ordinary magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) This causes correlation length increase with time $t$ like $t^{4/13}$ instead $t^{4/9}$ MHD. energy density decreases $t^{-10/13}$, slower MHD, where decays $t^{-10/9}$. These new analytic results agree earlier numerical simulations for nonhelical Hall cascade.

Chirality induced anomalous-Hall effect in helical spin crystals

Under pressure, the itinerant helimagnet MnSi displays unusual magnetic properties. We have previously discussed a BCC helical spin crystal as a promising starting point for describing the high pressure phenomenology. This state has topologically nontrivial configurations of the magnetization field. Here we note the consequences for magneto-transport that arise generally from such spin textures...

Inverse energy cascade in nonlocal helical shell models of turbulence.

Following the exact decomposition in eigenstates of helicity for the Navier-Stokes equations in Fourier space [F. Waleffe, Phys. Fluids A 4, 350 (1992)], we introduce a modified version of helical shell models for turbulence with nonlocal triadic interactions. By using both an analytical argument and numerical simulation, we show that there exists a class of models, with a specific helical stru...

Hindered Energy Cascade in Highly Helical Isotropic Turbulence.

The conventional approach to the turbulent energy cascade, based on Richardson-Kolmogorov phenomenology, ignores the topology of emerging vortices, which is related to the helicity of the turbulent flow. It is generally believed that helicity can play a significant role in turbulent systems, e.g., supporting the generation of large-scale magnetic fields, but its impact on the energy cascade to ...

Cancellation exponents in helical and non-helical flows

Helicity is a quadratic invariant of the Euler equation in three dimensions. As the energy, when present helicity cascades to smaller scales where it dissipates. However, the role played by helicity in the energy cascade is still unclear. In non-helical flows, the velocity and the vorticity tend to align locally creating patches with opposite signs of helicity. Also in helical flows helicity ch...

Direct Simulations of Helical Hall-mhd Turbulence and Dynamo Action

Direct numerical simulations of turbulent Hall dynamos are presented. The evolution of an initially weak and small scale magnetic field in a system maintained in a stationary turbulent regime by a stirring force at a macroscopic scale is studied to explore the conditions for exponential growth of the magnetic energy. Scaling of the dynamo efficiency with the Reynolds numbers is studied, and the...
